Father’s Day

I hope everyone enjoyed celebrating Father’s Day today. I hope you took time to tell the fathers in your life how much they mean to you, and that you will continue to do that every day. As I read through the numerous Facebook posts and looked at the pictures, I would tear up at all the sweet words that were written. However, don’t forget how important it is to hear those words spoken as well. My own father was stationed in Vietnam when I was born. He didn’t see me until I was six months old. As I look around at all the military dads who never come home, I am so thankful mine did. And I am thankful that he is still here today. Fatherhood isn’t easy, and raising kids takes everything you have and more. Single moms- I don’t know how you do it! Moms and dads that chose to not only have children, but spend their lives teaching them, praying for them and loving them unconditionally, take on a full time job that often seems thankless. Hang in there, one day they will understand the selflessness and sacrifices you made to give them all that you had.
