I have been happily married to my husband, Leslie, for twenty years. We have two teen-aged sons, Kyle and Chase. When I am not writing, I work as a real estate agent. I have a B.S. in Psychology, a teaching certificate and an M.S. in Information and Library Science from University of North Texas. I’ve always loved books, but never considered writing one myself. One day about ten years ago I was mowing the yard and having a little prayer time ( I had two preschoolers so quiet time was rare at my house). I felt the Lord tell me that He wanted me to write a book. I thought surely I was mistaken because I didn’t know anything about writing, and was definitely unqualified for the job. For the longest, I wouldn’t tell anyone because I thought they would think I was crazy. I kept trying to start my book, but it wasn’t time. I would have all these great ideas, and see possible plots all around me. Finally, the Lord told me,”This is your book.” I started writing and absolutely loved every minute.
I love suspense! Whether I am reading or watching TV, it’s going to be some sort of murder/disappearance/suspense. I have always lived in a small town so that is what I know. My perfect storm is when the two collide. Crime in a small town impacts everyone because we all know each other. I want my characters to remind my readers of a friend, family member or themselves. By the end of the book, I want them to feel like they are losing a friend! I am currently in the editing process of my first book. My next book is in the outlining stage, and I am itching to get started.
